Day 3 of Financial Coaching Master Series: Chris Hogan’s awesomeness & Hot Chicken

Today was a long day. Today was a great day! If you have ever gone to a day long seminar, you know incredibly draining it can be to listen to the same speaker drone on and on about whatever it is there are droning on about. What about a 4 day event?? I have to admit, I expected to be that guy at this event. Doodling incessantly, checking my phone like a 13 year old girl…Like, OMG, BFF and all that stuff. Nope. Not here. Not with the man, Chris Hogan, speaking. He is incredible.

Our schedule was 8-5:15 today. Count them, 9 hours of learning time. Now, we have an hour for lunch, a few breaks and some case study time, but most of our time here has been listening to Chris or “Hogan” as his compatriots refer to him as. Hogan is dynamic, animated and hilarious. His ability to keep his audience engaged is to be admired. He can tell a story without rambling. He can speak on a topic for a hour and not lose an audience. Incredibly impressive. Inspiring, emotional and truly passionate about his work, Chris Hogan has ascended the Dude Mountain of Awesomeness and has gained one incredibly impressed follower. Thank you sir for an incredible week so far.

Speaking of things ascending a Mountain of Awesomeness…Hot Chicken. What is Hot Chicken you ask? Well, it is chicken, fried in a bubbling cauldron to a perfectly crisp, sound inducing, crunchy exterior. It is taken straight out of the fryer and cannonballed into a hot sauce that covers the whole chunk of fried perfection perfectly. How the hot sauce manages to not create a instantly soggy mess is currently being explored as the eight wonder of the world. There are many Hot Chicken shops in Nashville and believe me, if I had time, I would try them all. Tonight though, we chose Hattie B’s. Much the same as Chris Hogan has ascend a Mountain of Awesomeness, Hattie B (whomever you are), I love you more than Aunt Jemima, Betty Crocker and Sarah Lee combined. On the Mount Rushmore of Food, Hot Chicken has moved right in to my top four favorite things on earth. I am deeply disappointed that this is a regional delicacy, but will be a number one stop any time I am near. If lusting over Hot Chicken is wrong…I don’t wanna be right! Wow!

When I began planning this trip, I had high expectations. When we were blessed with plane tickets for Tasha to join me, I knew the trip would be amazing. Having my expectations be completely exceeded and more by Chris Hogan as well as the food choices, well that is just Awesomeness!
